Consultation Quality Assessments
Appraisal fees are based on the complexity of the item(s) and the research and analysis necessary to determine an estimate of value and produce a comprehensive appraisal report.
Simple items, such as plain wedding bands and gold chains, require less time to appraise, while more complicated items require more time, such as antique or period pieces or items with many diamonds. The appraisal is priced accordingly.
Estimates for appraisal fees are provided by phone and are based on the client’s description of the item. Appraisal fees rarely exceed the original estimate and sometimes are less. Any adjustments to the estimate are made and agreed to once the jewelry is examined at the onset of the appointment.
All appraisal reports are prepared in accordance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), authorized by Congress as the source of appraisal standards and appraiser qualifications.
In Office: the hourly rate for consultation in our office is $125.
Out of Office: the hourly rate for consultation outside of our office is $150. There is also a travel fee of $200.
Printed Appraisal Fees
In the interest of being green and helping to save our valuable resources, all appraisals are delivered via email to the client. A printed copy of the appraisal is available for an additional $10 and is mailed to the client.
